Some interesting photos

After reading my post Hey, rickshaw fellow blogger Nebu has kindly sent me these interesting photos. They are from the collection at Corpus Christy School (now Pallikoodam) at Kottayam, Kerala.

In the foreground is a small canoe, the type that is popular in Kuttanad area. In the background is an old hand pulled rickshaw. To its left is a pushcart and far left is a waterwheel (Chakram: The wheel that turned agricultural fortunes)

Apparently one personality from our village used to have a horse driven chariot(Kuthiravady), in his hey days. He later moved to Eranakulam and used to stay at a home called Kalpaka at Perumanoor.
His name was Mathew J Kollamparampil.

Thank you Kariyachan. In fact, I knew the gentleman you have mentioned.
Wonder what happened to his 'kuthiravandy'.

Dear At sir;

He passed away a bachelor long back, and his estate is still in dispute I think - between a trust and his immediate family members.

I think its a bullock cart chassis not a push cart.
