Thank you, Binita, and AT.
Hope visitors continue to see such sights 50 years from now....

Your apprehension is relevant. Let us hope for the best.
Beautiful Pictures.
Since Veerappan's departure, the Bandipur area has become a hot spot for nature lovers aspiring to get a closer feel of forests and wildlife.
Govt of Karnataka has even embarked on a trails / trekking programme for the public, where one can enjoy the breath-taking beauty of the forest ranges which were once forbidden to anyone other than 'Veerappan & Co' and any other brave souls who dared to sneak into..
On the other hand, when Veerappan was alive ,Veerappan only was probably poaching and smuggling as he was verymuch dreaded and feared by poachers and authorities alike, and none dared to venture into his turf.
Letz hope the Bandipur - Muthumala-Nilgiri belt doesnt become the safe haven of future wannabe Veerappans who aspire to make some hay.

Kariyachan, thank you for the comment and for providing the lead to mystery trails.
