Some years back we went to see Edison's house in Naples - Florida. In an contract to create a substitute for rubber during the WW1, he brought in a number of plants from the tropics to study the gums from them, one of them was the jack fruit tree. they still exist, are healthy and flower.... the guide did not quite know what this tree did and what the fruit was all about. I had to explain to the crowd what one did with jackfruit. as expected the american crowd went ooh! aah!

Nice pictures. By some incredible coincidence, someone presented me with a 'chakka' a couple of days ago...more on this on my blog soon
Maddy, that is an interesting one. I can visualize the American crowd.
Raji, I look forward to the article on 'chakka' on your blog.
